Bitcoin Core Just Changed How It Handles Bug Disclosures. AI Is the Reason
Bitcoin Core has changed its vulnerability disclosure policy to fast-track fixes and public disclosures for bugs that AI tools can independently rediscover, ending the long embargoes those vulnerabilities once received. Chaincode Labs developer Antoine Poinsot merged the change on October 22 after months of AI-driven vulnerability reports across Bitcoin’s open-source projects.
