The bootcamp will take place from 21 to 25 September 2026 at Sahara Ventures HQ in Victoria, Dar es Salaam. Applications are now open.

Hands-On Bitcoin and Lightning Training

The bootcamp will focus on practical learning. Participants will move from Bitcoin and Lightning fundamentals to coding, building and testing real applications.

Developers can expect:

  • Hands-on Bitcoin and Lightning training
  • Practical coding workshops
  • Opportunities to build working projects
  • Networking with other Bitcoin and Lightning developers

The programme is designed for developers who want to build practical tools and payment solutions using Bitcoin and Lightning.

Expanding Lightning Development Across Africa

Africa Free Routing has organised similar developer bootcamps in African cities including Kigali, Addis Ababa and Kisumu.

These programmes help developers gain practical experience with Bitcoin infrastructure, Lightning development and open-source tools.Bringing the programme to Dar es Salaam also gives more developers in Tanzania and East Africa an opportunity to develop these skills locally.

How to Apply

Applications for the Lightning Developer Bootcamp Dar es Salaam are now open.
