Bitcoin Nairobi Conference 2026

EVENTS ADOPTION UNCATEGORIZED

The East African Bitcoin landscape is witnessing a significant shift in leadership. Specifically, the Bitcoin Nairobi Conference 2026 has officially emerged as a standalone, Africa-led initiative. The event was originally part of a global series. However, it has undergone a rebranding . The conference will take place on June 24–25, 2026, at the A.S.K. Dome, Jamhuri Park

The  Pivot

Initially, the event was positioned as “Adopting Bitcoin Nairobi.” Recently, local organizers announced a transition to an independent model. The global team has officially withdrawn from the project. Consequently, they wished the local committee success as they steer the mission forward under a “By Africa, For Africa” banner.

The Organizing Coalition

A partnership of local stakeholders and technical educators now powers the conference:

  • Core Organizers: AfriBTC, Gorilla Sats, and Trezor Academy.

  • Production Partners: TALO Africa, led by Robert Kirubi, alongside CIO Africa and DX5.

  • Mainstream Outreach: Capital FM Kenya serves as the primary media partner. This ensures that Bitcoin education reaches the wider Kenyan public.

Program Highlights

The itinerary showcases Bitcoin as a functional tool for economic resilience.

June 24–25: Main Conference
This major summit brings together builders, developers, and policymakers at the A.S.K. Dome. Specifically, the sessions focus on bridging the gap between digital policy and real-world utility. Key topics include remittances, infrastructure, and financial regulation.

June 26: Kibera Field Visit
Participants will join a community-focused excursion to the Kibera settlement. This visit allows guests to witness a functional Bitcoin ecosystem in action. Furthermore, it demonstrates local merchant adoption and circular economies within underserved communities.

Why This Event Matters

Kenya continues to navigate a complex regulatory environment and a volatile local currency. Therefore, the Bitcoin Nairobi Conference 2026 serves as a critical hub for education. By centering on financial inclusion and cross-border trade, the event reinforces Nairobi’s position as a premier technical hub for Bitcoin innovation.
