Librería de Satoshi Rebrands as ISMOS and Launches Global Campus to Train Developers

ADOPTION COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

On October 28, 2026, the Bitcoin education organization formerly known as Librería de Satoshi announced it is now ISMOS.

The rebrand comes with a new open-source learning platform, campus.ismos.xyz, and an ambitious goal: train one million developers worldwide in Bitcoin, cryptography, cybersecurity, mathematics, artificial intelligence, Nostr, and open-source software.

The announcement, posted by the official @ISMOSxyz account, stated: “Librería de Satoshi is now ISMOS. Five years teaching Technical Bitcoin in Spanish taught us this: language shouldn’t decide who gets to learn, and building Bitcoin well starts with its foundations.

A new name for a bigger mission. Cryptography, math, software engineering, AI and critical thinking, in more languages and more countries, all built on the foundations Bitcoin taught us.”

From Spanish-Language Bitcoin School to Global Freedom Tech Ecosystem

ISMOS began in Latin America in 2021 as Librería de Satoshi, focused on rigorous technical Bitcoin education for Spanish speakers. Founder and CEO Dulce Villarreal explained the motivation: “El talento es universal; la oportunidad, no.

Fundé Librería de Satoshi porque viví en carne propia la barrera del idioma en Bitcoin. ISMOS lleva esa misión al mundo, para que el próximo gran desarrollador pueda salir de cualquier lugar.”

(“Talent is universal; opportunity is not. I founded Librería de Satoshi because I experienced the language barrier in Bitcoin firsthand. ISMOS takes that mission worldwide so the next great developer can come from anywhere.”)

Since 2021 the project has:

  • Reached more than 3,665 people across 40+ countries.
  • Supported 30+ open-source developers through fellowships.
  • Built an active community of 680+ members.
  • Awarded 800+ scholarships (2025 figures).

The organization is primarily backed by Btrust and the Human Rights Foundation, with earlier support from OpenSats and the Gemini Opportunity Fund.

What the New ISMOS Campus Offers

The new platform at campus.ismos.xyz is open-source and designed so teachers and communities worldwide can deliver courses.

Classes are available in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, with more languages planned. Students can learn live with instructors or review recordings at their own pace.

ISMOS organizes learning into clear paths:

  • Courses / General Learning — Bitcoin from zero: fundamentals, wallets, Lightning Network, privacy, and self-custody.
  • Developers (B4OS) — Intensive 5–8 month programs to contribute to Bitcoin Core and Lightning, with active mentors.
  • Community Ambassador — Technical and community-focused multilingual teaching network.
  • Specialists (LN & AI) — Lightning Network + artificial intelligence, including agentic payments.
  • Funding Fellowships — Contributor, Builder, Maintainer, and Core tracks that fund open-source Bitcoin work.

Course categories include Bitcoin 4 Everyone, Bitcoin Master, Bitcoin Dev, AI, and Professional Skills. Developers can also explore the open-source tools on github.com/ismos-xyz.

Why the Rebrand Matters for Bitcoin Education?

The move reflects nearly five years of growth and a deliberate expansion beyond Spanish-speaking audiences.

By removing language as a barrier and combining rigorous technical foundations with mentorship, fellowships, and community teaching, ISMOS aims to decentralize high-level Bitcoin and Freedom Tech skills.

As Villarreal and the team emphasize in their announcement video and materials, the core conviction remains the same: talent exists everywhere, but structured opportunity does not.

The new name and platform are designed to close that gap at global scale while staying rooted in the technical principles Bitcoin itself demonstrated.
