Breez SDK Now Lets Bitcoin Wallets Receive Stablecoins From Over 30 Networks and Auto-Convert to Bitcoin

DEVELOPMENT PAYMENTS

Dollars In, Bitcoin Out

Breez announced on September 28, 2026, that applications built on its SDK can now let users with a Bitcoin balance receive stablecoin payments from over 30 blockchain networks including Ethereum, Base, Solana, Tron, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Polygon. The receiver picks the sender’s network and an amount, the SDK generates a deposit address and shows what will arrive, and the sender pays from their usual wallet as normal. Flashnet converts the payment in the background, and the funds land in the receiver’s non-custodial wallet as Bitcoin, or as dollars if they use the stable balance feature.

The update completes a two-way bridge. Breez released its outbound send USDT/USDC feature in June, allowing users to send stablecoins from a Bitcoin balance. The September update adds the inbound leg, meaning a single Breez-powered balance can now move stablecoins in both directions across nearly any network.

Why This Matters for African Bitcoin Builders

The Breez SDK is the developer toolkit powering several Bitcoin payment applications used across Africa. It handles wallet creation, sending, receiving, and Lightning Network payments without requiring developers to run nodes or manage liquidity. African tools like Tando, BitSpenda, and Bitzed that connect Bitcoin to mobile money operate in a landscape where stablecoins are increasingly used for cross-border settlement and remittance. A non-custodial bridge that auto-converts between stablecoins and Bitcoin removes friction for users who receive dollar-denominated payments but want to hold or spend in Bitcoin, and vice versa.

Breez has been layering usability upgrades throughout 2026: passkey login instead of seed phrases, instant onboarding, dollar-denominated balances, and now cross-chain stablecoin interoperability. The direction of travel is clear: making Bitcoin wallets feel indistinguishable from conventional fintech apps while keeping the self-custody model intact underneath.
