Two Bitcoin opportunities are open this month for people who teach, build or organize around Bitcoin. My First Bitcoin is accepting applications for three board seats, and Adopting Bitcoin Cape Town is taking speaker proposals for its 2027 conference.
A board seat at My First Bitcoin
In a post on X, John Dennehy announced that My First Bitcoin is accepting applications for three seats on its Board of Directors. Applications stay open all month, and the new term begins on January 1. The organization wants help growing the global independent Bitcoin education movement. That work matters in Africa, where many people are still hearing about Bitcoin for the first time.

Meanwhile, Adopting Bitcoin Cape Town has opened its call for speakers. The conference takes place on 26 and 27 February at Workshop17 Watershed in Cape Town, and the organizers describe it as a gathering for Bitcoin adoption in Southern Africa. The 2026 edition was the third.
The organizers want developers who build open source projects, civic organizations that fill gaps left by centralized systems, and political dissidents who push back against overreach.
