Africa’s Bitcoin-only ecosystem has reached a new milestone, expanding to 189 verified projects spanning 23 countries, according to the latest update from African Bitcoiners.

The growth reflects strong momentum across the continent. In just six months, the ecosystem expanded by 13.2%, adding 22 new Bitcoin-only projects since Q1 2026. Since Q2 2026 alone, 13 additional verified projects have joined the map.

All projects are documented in the community-maintained Live African Bitcoin Directory, widely regarded as the most comprehensive database of Bitcoin-only initiatives on the continent.
