Bitcoin Build-Athon 2026: Kaduna Hosts Free Developer Training

Google Developer Group Kaduna City is teaming up with Btrust, the non profit organisation working to decentralise Bitcoin software development, to host a free Bitcoin training program for developers in the city this October.

The program, called the Bitcoin Build Athon 2026, opens with a 4 days virtual class running from October 20 to October 24, with sessions holding daily from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. Each day covers a different topic, taught by a different mentor. Oyin leads an introduction to Bitcoin on October 20, Abdullahi covers the Lightning Network and developer tools on October 21, Mubarak takes participants through Bitcoin SDKs and APIs on October 22, and Shehu closes the series with a class on open source contribution on October 24.

After the virtual classes, the program moves in person for the Build Athon Day on October 29, 2026, at Stonetech Square in Kaduna. This is where participants get to build real Bitcoin powered applications using what they learned during the week.

The training is aimed at anyone ready to move from just hearing about Bitcoin to actually building on it, whether they are new to Bitcoin development or already have experience with open source contribution.
