The Core hosted Bitcoin Meetup 09 on February 28 at HH Towers, Moi Avenue. Felix Mukungu led 4–6 hours of practical Bitcoin training. Trezor Academy supported the event.

Kenyan Bitcoin enthusiasts gathered in Nairobi’s CBD. They moved from theory to real‑world skills. The meetup showcased The Core’s mission: Bitcoin for everyone.

Felix Mukungu guided attendees through essential topics. Live demos made concepts stick.​​

  1. Bitcoin Fundamentals: Felix explained money’s history and Bitcoin’s role. Attendees grasped why Bitcoin matters today.​
  2. Self‑Custodial Wallets: Participants set up Blue Wallet and Blockstream. Felix demonstrated Trezor Safe 3 cold storage. Everyone practiced secure self‑custody.
  3. Live Bitcoin Transactions: An attendee received sats on‑chain. They verified it on Mempool.space. The group saw Bitcoin’s transparent ledger in action.​
  4. Lightning Network Speed: Using Wallet of Satoshi and Blink, participants sent 1,000 sats in a chain. Lightning proved fast, cheap payments.​
  5. Buy and Spend Bitcoin: Minmo guests showed easy P2P buying. Tando demoed real Kenyan Bitcoin spending. Minmo merch rewarded active participants.
